In-Home Corrective Bodywork
Hi! I’m Kanalu O Avery! I’m a licensed massage therapist in California and Mississippi, and a certified personal trainer through NASM, with a certified specialization in corrective exercise. I believe deeply in the therapeutic and corrective power of massage, bodywork, stretching, and focused movement — not just as treatments, but as tools for lasting change.
My approach blends evidence-informed, hands-on techniques with a strong foundation in skeletal and muscular anatomy, allowing me to tailor each session to your individual structure, movement patterns, and goals. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic tension, or simply seeking to feel more at home in your body, I’m here to support your journey toward greater mobility, resilience, and ease.

Common Questions
What is corrective massage therapy?
Corrective massage therapy focuses on treating specific issues and conditions through targeted techniques. It aims to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and promote overall wellness.
How can in-home massage benefit me?
In-home massage offers convenience and comfort, allowing you to relax in your own space. It can help reduce stress, relieve muscle tension, and provide personalized care tailored to your needs.
What should I expect during my first session?
During your first session, we will discuss your health history and specific concerns. I will assess your physical limitations and intake form and create a customized treatment plan to ensure the best results for your well-being.
Is the massage therapists certified and experienced?
Yes, I am a trained and certified professional with extensive training and experience in various massage techniques and anatomy. I am dedicated to providing safe and effective treatments tailored to my clients individual needs.
How often should I schedule a massage?
The frequency of massages depends on your individual needs and goals. For general wellness, a monthly session may suffice, while those with specific issues might benefit from weekly or bi-weekly treatments to achieve optimal results.
What should I do to retain changes from the session.
Unlike most other Massage Therapists, my certifications in Corrective Exercise and Personal Training enable me to legally and safely recommend exercises, foam rolling, and stretches related to postural corrections. Many common pain patterns are due to postural limations and therefore these fitness recomendations tend to be quite beneficial.
